Tourist atmosphere at the Embarcadero de San Francisco

Last day of the trip of our friends Dolors and Miquel, who have accompanied us on the stretch for the West Coast of our coast to coast road trip through the United States and Canada.

The next morning they finish their holiday stay. They fly from San Francisco to Barcelona, via Philadelphia.

For this reason, first thing Miquel and I went to a nearby internet booth (in this case Fedex) to print the boarding passes of your flights, which we did more or less satisfactorily.

The most advanced internet centers, such as this one, have printers of various types, in color and black and white, that you manage directly by introducing the credit card into an existing slot next to each screen, and where You can print documents in different sizes.

We have dedicated all day long walk through the city of San Francisco.

Skyscrapers in downtown Downtown San Francisco in California

We have taken a tram, but the walk has been important. More than eight hours touring the different places of the city: the Downtown downtown in full, stopping to have some coffee with some pasta in the middle of the morning, entering stores and department stores, buying CDs with songs about San Francisco, like the ones that moved us in that City Tour bus We did a couple of days ago.

We also stroll through all piers and docks, he Fisherman's wharf in full, entering souvenir shops.

We ate again in the restaurant Pier Market - Seafood Restaurant & Market, at Pier 39, where we used again that while you wait your turn walking around, warns you when the table is ready.

Sea lions at Pier 39 of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco

On this occasion Dolors and Miquel were kind enough to invite us to a great meal with wine, beer, dessert and irish coffee at, again, a good table overlooking the pier.

On this walk too we visited the interior of a submarine of the American Navy of World War II, where we were surprised again by the claustrophobia generated by these narrow and overwhelming spaces. To think that, in addition, they sail beneath the surface and totally closed, it gives even a headache.

After visiting the submarine we enter a automaton museum similar to the Tibidabo of Barcelona, but to the American. While walking we also saw many seagulls walking among us looking for food, we returned to look at the large number of sea lions sunbathing, and, in general, the whole area was like an impossible place to get bored.

We were struck by a relatively young beggar sitting on the floor with a sign that said: “Why lie, I need a beer”(Because lying, I need a beer). Lighter, water, sorry, beer.

We toured all Powell Street walking, we enter a part of the neighborhood again Chinatown where Miquel and Aurora cut themselves and fixed their hair in a small Chinese hairdresser. The only hairdresser did very well, fast and for a price 35 percent! lower than usual in Spain.

Finally, we took a tram to go to the hotel after finishing the day by San Francisco.

We arrived shattered, but alive, so after a great shower we had dinner in the room, salads, sandwiches, cheeses and regular beers and to sleep.

Of course, very little because at 2 in the morning we approached the travelers Dolors and Miquel at San Francisco International Airport. His flight left very early in the morning and for security reasons, it was necessary to be three hours before.

There we leave you, in an airport in the dark, with very few people, that is, almost nobody. We returned to the hotel and could sleep a little more.

In short, a very nice day, on a sunny day, with a special light and about 22º of temperature.

We love San Francisco !!
